Just a quick update: We finished the tech route and are in the North Rim. None of us died or got badly injured. I would absolutely not recommend this route.
Never have I been more glad to have bought sticky shoes.
We’re really looking forward to a chill bunch of miles of snowshoeing. Utah, not death!
